Notes from Community Network meeting

I think you will agree that it was a very productive meeting and I am delighted that we all agree on what we are endeavouring to achieve and how to move forward.

To briefly confirm what was suggested and discussed.

Rather than attempting to provide lots of labour intensive activities we would concentrate and focus on the new Old Town Community Centre, involving as many groups throughout the parish as possible in a variety of ways, culminating in a ‘grand opening’.

The various activities could for example be school children visiting the churchyard to record any graves which may need to be moved, children visiting the site during construction to meet with site engineer/builder, groundbreaking ceremony and topping out  ceremony.  Hannah is also going to make some enquiries regarding the possibility of groups who would be users of the centre being involved in producing a permanent work of art such as a mural.

This is obviously just a few ideas and it was acknowledged that we would need to liaise very closely with other groups, especially those involved with site development and will need to have access to the Building Schedule.

Please feel free to correct me if you think I have misrepresented anything that was discussed.
